We have discovered the success and power of posting a wish list. Here is what we are in need of at this time. Can you help?
Air mile points for travel between Canada and Guatemala. We are keeping our trips to a minimum but unfortunately, it is required that we travel back and forth a couple of times each year.
Passenger Van (8-15 person) Initially the van will be used to transport volunteers and then, eventually, the children that will reside in the Children’s Village!
The Village Registry
If you would like to donate to the Children’s Village, here is a list of things that we need at this time.
In keeping with our goal to be socially and environmentally responsible, we are only accepting the following items which will help us furnish the homes in preparation for the arrival of children. The books and DVDs will be collected to build the children and volunteer libraries.
- Single-sized sheet sets – minimum 300-400 thread count in solid colours
- Towels – different solid colors
- Face towels – different solid colors
- Hand towels – different solid colors
- Stainless steel pots and pans
- Cutlery
- Mixing bowls
- Stainless steel cooking utensils
- Used Apple laptop computers – nothing older than 3 years
- Spanish-English Dictionaries
- Quality children’s English and Spanish picture books (used are fine)
- Spanish books
- Night lights
- DVDs – children’s and Adults Spanish and English (with Spanish subtitles)
- Rain jackets (men’s sizes)
- Rain boots (men’s sizes)
- Sidewalk Chalk
- Solar Garden Lamps
- Solar Hot Water Panels
You can also download a copy of our Village Registry to print out and bring along with you!
Please note that at this time, we are not accepting any children’s clothing. Unfortunately, we do not have any space to store it and until there are homes ready, there are no children living at the village.
