Jose and his mom, board member, Maria came to Guatemala for 3 weeks in August 2011 to help us on the ground.

The Arrival of Bamboo

200 pieces of bamboo arrived on Friday, July 29th. Each piece is 4-6″ in diameter and 10m in length and will be used for the roof structure for the first and second family home of Project Somos Children’s Village.

Construction of the Children’s Village has begun! Here is a documentation of whats been happening in Guatemala during the months of May & June!

Project Somos delivers today’s breaking news from on site, where the first family home is about to be constructed.

Willing Helpers

Today, April 15, 2011 when we arrived at the land to drop off some supplies in the new container, this group of boys arrived and spontaneously assisted with the unloading!

On Wednesday, April 13th we moved this 28 foot container from highway near Tecpán to Chivarabal. It is the first “building” on the land and will be “home” to our tools.

A collection of photographs of the land upon which the Children’s Village will be built. This beautiful property is located near Tecpan, Guatemala and will be the future home of Project Somos, Seres and the Ethical Bean Coffee Roasting Facility.

We held our Third Annual Benefit Fiesta on November 10, 2010. This year the event was organized by event organizer extraordinaire, Pilar Hansen and was a huge success.
