The Children
The children are the focus of the Project Somos Children’s Village.
They will be placed with the Project Somos Children’s Village through the Guatemalan Central Authority which oversees the well-being of vulnerable children.
The children will have been abandoned, orphaned or come from families that cannot adequately care for them.
The children will become a permanent part of a foster family; they will have the security of a long-term relationship with their “forever family” and the Village.
Whenever possible, a relationship with the biological family will be encouraged and maintained.
Professionals will be available to support the children through any psychological trauma that they have endured.
Many structural and human components support their development and the children will be offered a variety of educational, creative and vocational opportunities.
