Team Somos in action
Singer/songwriter Maryn Joseph was so inspired by the Project that he agreed to do a house concert to benefit Project Somos! Since then, Martyn has continued to raise awareness and money for Somos and to inspire others to do the same.
Grade three students from Glenlyon Norfolk School in Victoria planted tomato seeds and sold the seedlings to raise money for Project Somos.
To celebrate her 60th birthday, Fern Logan hosted a concert in support of Project Somos!
When co-founder Heather Knox’s mom died in 2011, in lieu of flowers they invited friends and family to donate to Project Somos. In her honour, the gathering place was funded and built by family and volunteers.
Christina Platt, founder of Bamboletta Dolls, made seven sets of twin dolls and held an online auction in support of Somos. Read about the magic that happened as each twin arrived in the Childrens Village.
Matthew Boroditisky came to Project Somos with St. George’s School in 2013. Later that year he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Read about his journey and his special wish here.
To celebrate her 49th birthday Gin Nielsen threw a backyard potluck party with all her friends and family and raised money for Somos!
Westley may only have been 9 but this didn’t stop him from sharing the proceeds of his lemonade stand with Project Somos … and when Ana MacNaught turned 30 she celebrated by fundraising at her birthday party for the children and mamas in Guatemala. What a gift!
Aliya’s grade 5/6 class at Roberts Creek Elementary School raised money for Project Somos by hosting a bake sale, having a hockey shoot out and by selling mystery boxes to fellow students!
